Indirect admission occurs when one already possesses a diploma course and wants to upgrade while direct admission is for those fresh from high schools. Those who want to major in Mathematics must have passed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with the minimum grades as indicated for the following subjects: Physics B- (minus) or Physical Science B (plain) and Mathematics B- (minus). For those majoring in Botany/Zoology and Geography the minimum requirement for Mathematics is C (Plain). Those intending to major in Geography need to have acquired at least grade C+ (plus) in Geography; a C+ (Plus) in one of the following subjects: Business Studies, Biology, Agriculture or B- (minus) in Physical Science; and a C plain (C) in Mathematics.
