Diploma in Electrical Engineering Admission Requirements to Kenyan Universities

Several Universities and colleges in Kenya offer diploma in electrical engineering. The minimum KCSE requirement to pursue this course is a C plain but various universities have outlined their entry requirements, which are stated below

MOUNT KENYA UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements
Direct entry
For a student to be admitted into the diploma into Electrical engineering, he/she should certify one of the following minimum requirements.
i.    The student must be a holder of a minimum aggregate grade of C in KCSE and grade C- in Mathematics and Physics
Or Division III in KCE with credit passes in Mathematics and English
ii.    The student must have credit pass and above in the Certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification may be considered for admission.
Mature Entry Requirements
The mature age entry requirements are as stipulated below
•    Minimum aggregate of C- plus a relevant certificate
•    Have at least two years’ work experience in the field of study being sort
•    Pass an entrance examination set and administered by the university.

TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF KENYA DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Duration
6 Semesters

TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MOMBASA DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Diploma in Instrumentation and Control, Electrical Engineering Technician Part I, II or III from KNEC, KNEC, TUM or any other equivalent qualifications recognized by TUM Senate.

As you can see, the minimum requirements to pursue electrical & electronics engineering at diploma level is a C+, this is because the course is tough and only equivalent to some courses at undergraduate level. The best institutions to enroll for Electrical Engineering include the University of Nairobi, JKUAT, Technical University of Kenya and Technical University of Mombasa.

You require at least Ksh180,000 to complete the entire course.

Zetech University Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power) (KNEC) Admission Requirements

Passed K.C.S.E with an average grade of C- (Minus)

Programme Duration and Structure

This diploma course shall be offered in Seven (7) Months.
