Human Resources Management is one of the most sought after courses in Kenya. Admission requirements for a diploma in HR in Kenya depends on KCSE grade and the type of college to enroll for the program.Below we present the entry requirements for the program in various Kenyan universities and colleges.

KENYATTA UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for admission to this programme, candidates must meet any of the following minimum  requirements:

A holder of KCSE C (plain) or its equivalent or
A holder of KCE Division III or its equivalent or
A holder of KACE with One Principal and One Subsidiary or
Mean grade of C- (minus) at KCSE with a certificate in the relevant area from a recognised institution.

Programme Structure and Duration
The programme duration will be two (2) academic years. In the first academic year of study, the learner will take ten (12) units, six (6) units per semester. In the second academic year of study, the learner will take four (4) units in the first semester and two (2) units in the second semester (Industrial attachment or research project). The programme consists of eighteen (18) units. In order to qualify for the award of the diploma, the candidate must pass all of these eighteen (18) units.

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition, the minimum qualification for admission to an Ordinary Diploma programme are:

 

KCSE certificate with a minimum aggregate of C (plain), or equivalent.

O level certificate with a minimum grade of Division II, or equivalent; or Division III plus evidence of relevant academic or professional training.

A level qualification with a minimum of one (1) principal pass, or equivalent.

Individual departments within the Faculty of Arts may set additional requirements specific to their disciplinary mandates, and these shall be subject to Senate approval.

 

Subject to approval by the Faculty of Arts and the department(s) concerned, a candidate enrolled in any ordinary diploma programme, or equivalent, at the University of Nairobi or any other University recognized by the University of Nairobi Nairobi may register for, attend lectures and be examined in any one or more course units in any equivalent programme of his/her choice within the Faculty of Arts.

 

Registration for courses by continuing students shall take place before the end of the preceding semester.  Where these regulations are silent on any aspect of University admission, existing University of Nairobi regulations shall apply.

 

EGERTON UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission Requirements
i). The common University admission criteria are applicable. In addition:
ii). The candidate must have obtained at least a mean grade of C (Plain) at Kenya Certificate of Secondary School or Division III at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) or equivalent qualification.
iii). The candidate must have also obtained at least a C- (Minus) in mathematics and at least a C- (Minus) in English or Kiswahili.
iv). Candidates with a mean grade of C (plain) but have less than C-(Minus) in Mathematics and English or Kiswahili can be admitted after bridging in the respective subjects.

v). Candidates with a credit in certificate in Business field from Institutions recognized by the Academic Board and having a mean grade of D+ (Plus) or equivalent in their (KCSE) are also eligible for admission.
vi). Holders of Accounting Technicians Certificates (ATC) final level are also eligible for admission.

KENYA METHODIST UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirement:  C minus and above.
