How much does AdSense pay per 1,000 views in Kenya

985

AdSense pays $0.5 to $5 per 1000 views in Kenya. However, the income for bloggers has dropped significantly because most Kenyan corporates are struggling financially, hence low budget for advertisements. But generally, a blog getting 1,000 views will generate at least $0.50 from AdSense in Kenya.

When I was monetizing with AdSense, 1,000 views could generate for me over $10 dollars in some cases. My revenue wasn’t uniform because sometimes I used to get traffic from UK, USA, Canada and Australia where CPC is high. When my blog received most of the traffic from Kenya, I earned even less than $0.5 per 1,000 views.

There was a time I was using a free WordPress theme, my income was very low but when I shifted to a premium theme, the income shot by 1000%.I have used Newspaper theme for a very long time and I think it’s the best for AdSense banners. If you also wish to use it, then you can get the same for $59 from Themeforest. To get the theme, click here and visit Themeforest website

AdSense payment is in terms of CPC (Cost per Click) and CPM(Cost per 1000 views).Generally,1,000 views will get 10-30 clicks. The average cost of a click in Kenya is $0.02.Assuming that your blog gets 20 clicks per 1000 views, your income through CPC is $.8

If more than 50% of traffic is from USA, expect to earn $0.05 to $0.10 per click. A blog with such traffic will generate over $1 per 1000 views.

For 1,000 views, the CPM will be $0.20 to $0.50.If you add $0.8 and $0.20,you’ll get an income of $1 per 1000 views.

What determines the amount of money a blog generates per 100 views:

  • Type of traffic received by a blog

There are three types of traffic: organic, social and direct. A blog receiving most of the traffic from organic searches will earn more than that getting most of the traffic from social media. Organic and direct traffic is more superior to social media traffic.

  • Positioning of banners

One reason why I recommended Newspaper theme is because it allows for positioning of the banners where they are fully visible. Well targeted banners have high click through rate, hence more income.

Always place the banners inside the post, above the post and at the header. You should also avoid mixing AdSense banners with banners from other companies.

  • Geographical location of traffic

Traffic from most African countries, including Kenya have low CPC.It’s only traffic from South Africa which compete with European nations in terms of CPC.

If you want to earn more money from AdSense, always target traffic from USA and EUROPE. Traffic from UAE is also well paying.

  • Niche

The niche of your blog also determines what you’ll earn. Health, business, education, web hosting, gadgets and real estate are some of the best paying niches in Kenya. Blogs about politics, entertainment and news are low paying niches.
