  1. Country Director Kenya

Our Kenya Office is currently recruiting for the position of Country Director to join and lead the Country Management Team in the International Programme Division.

The purpose of the job:

  • To represent Islamic Relief at all levels in-country
  • To strengthen IR’s relations with the wider humanitarian and development community to consolidate and develop the visibility and image of the organisation
  • To deliver effective programmes according to the Country Programme and Regional Strategies
  • To ensure maximum impact of the organisation’s work, facilitate professional communication systematically and cooperate between the different parts of the IR family.
  • To lead, manage and develop staff in order to ensure that the country office is capable of fully achieving its agreed targets.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Relations/ or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience on working as a Country Director, or a senior management role with an International NGO in a complex emergency.
  • Experience and knowledge of current trends and future trends of the humanitarian and development sector, and in particular a thorough understanding of the Kenya context.
  • Proven experience of successful resource mobilisation including strategic engagement with institutional donors.
  • Proven experience and skills in project design including developing innovative ideas and multi-sectoral and complex emergencies
  • Ability to think strategically, innovate and achieve results
  • Excellent communication skills in English both in writing and orally with impact.
  • Able to deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management.
  • An in-depth understanding of international development issue.
  1. Finance Manager Kenya

Our Kenya office is currently recruiting for the position of Finance Manager to join the Country Management Team.

Purpose of the job: is to manage the national finance function and effective control of all financial matters ensuring reporting and compliance with donors and Islamic Relief financial guidelines.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CCAB) or equivalent or partly qualified With substantial relevant experience in INGO, MBA will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, Dynamics AX an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial managers.
  • Ability to manage and supervise finance and non-finance staff in multiple and remote locations.

  1. Regional Human Resources Coordinator

Islamic Relief Worldwide is an independent humanitarian and development organization, serving humanity for over 35 years. With an active presence in over 40 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflicts or natural disasters.

Under the direct supervision of the Country Director HR Coordinator is expected to:

  • Strategically plan human resources in line with business strategy
  • Manage, track and maintain a proper filing system related to recruitment, contracts, of personnel including renewal of contracts and health benefits.
  • Coordinate, the attraction and retention of the right quality of employees required with the right skills and competencies in the organization
  • Advising and giving support to organizational management on all matters of human resource
  • · Implement and develop the HR National policies and procedures
  • · Administering employee health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations & payment
  • · Acting as a liaison between employees and insurance providers
  • · Act as a focal point for all Staff grievances related to HR
  • · Conduct a job evaluation survey to identify the necessary staffing needs
  • · Coordinate all Recruitments for Kenya Program
