New Courses

To keep abreast with market changes, the college has introduced several courses.

For instance, a three-year diploma programme in Optical Technology has already kicked off at the Occupational Therapy department. Targeting Form Four leavers, the lucrative course will fill a vacuum that has existed in Africa for a long time. KMTC becomes the second training institution in Africa, after Tanzania, to offer the course that will enable graduates to assess visual defects and fabricate visual devices to correct them.

Vision Therapy – A one-year post basic course, this full time programme initially targets graduates of clinical medicine, occupational therapy, and nurses to make them vision therapists. This means graduates can run rehabilitation programmes for people with visual impairments.

Sensory Integration Therapy – A one-year postgraduate diploma course, the work-based programme targets occupational therapists, nurses, physiotherapists and nurses to enable them apply what they read in class to their work environment. The course does not change one’s career but gives one skills to be able to deal with persons with brain injuries.

Ultra sound – This is a one-year higher national diploma course. The full-time programme that is taught at the medical imaging department will enable graduates to scan organs of the body using specialized equipment.

Ophthalmic Nursing– This is a one-year post diploma course. The full-time programme for regular and self-sponsored students targets nurses to enable them diagnose, treat and refer patients with eye problems as well as give them health education.

It’s known that no other college in Kenya matches KMTC in regards to quality of training in medical related courses. The institution is a darling of all Kenyans aspiring to be nurses. If you have a daughter or son willing to do nursing or any medical related course, take them to KMTC.
