  1. Victoria University MBA Entry requirements for international students

Victoria University (VU) can offer you a place as an international student in a course if you meet the minimum Academic requirements (PDF, 384 KB) for entry into our courses, according to the qualifications in your country.

If you’ve completed a qualification where English was the primary language of instruction, you may be eligible for an exemption. Check the English language requirements (PDF, 210 KB).

Academic entry requirements for masters degrees

Entry into a masters degree requires you to have completed an undergraduate qualification that is comparable to an Australian bachelor degree, honours degree or graduate diploma.

English language requirements for masters degrees

You will need to provide evidence that you have achieved one of the following levels of English language proficiency:

  • IELTS (academic module): Overall score of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL Internet: Test score of 79. Section score no less than:

Entry requirements

Applicants seeking admission to the program will normally have:
a) A minimum of three (3) years full time management experience and a recognised university undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualifications;
or
b) A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of South Australia with an average of at least Pass Level 1 (55%) across four (or more) courses, or an equivalent qualification from the University of South Australia or from another recognised university;

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;

Applicants who wish to undertake the AIB MBA must meet the minimum criteria for the first stage of the MBA, namely the Graduate Certificate in Management.

The applicant must have ONE of the following:

If you have a major in a non-business discipline and do meet meet the management experience requirement, you will begin your studies at graduate certificate level. The graduate certificate provides an entry pathway that considers non-managerial work experience and tertiary studies other than in a business-related discipline.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration you will be admitted to the Master program, which requires the successful completion of further courses.

Master of Business Administration (with specialisations)

For entry to the Master of Business Administration 12 subject course applicants are required to have:

  • Two written references that are work-related. Your referees need to confirm the key duties involved in your role. They should also verify details about your management experience which can range from managing a team of people, managing client accounts, the managerial components of any major projects you have been directly responsible for and/or financial delegations for which you are directly responsible.
