International relations and diplomacy Admission Requirements in Kenya

There are many universities /colleges in Kenya that offers courses in international relations and diplomacy. At each level, there are specific admission requirements and each university offer admissions after considering minimum entry requirements. Admission Requirements

(i)                 KCSE Mean Grade C+ or above and a minimum of C in English; or

(ii)               EACE Div. III and accredit pass in English and a Diploma from a recognized Institution; or

(iii)             KCSE  C plain and a minimum of C in English  and a Diploma from a recognized Institution; or

Who is eligible to Apply?
To obtain admission to this programme, a candidate must satisfy one of the following requirements:
a. Be a holder of KCSE with at least C+ (plus) aggregate;
OR
b. Be a holder of KACE certificate with minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass or its equivalent;
OR
c. Be a holder of IGCSE Certificate with minimum Five Credits or equivalent international qualification ;
OR
d. Be a holder of Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy of Riara University with a GPA of 2.00 (C) or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by CUE.
The University admits students in the month of January, May and September each year.

To be admitted into the programme, applicants must have one of the following:
A minimum of C plain at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent with a C or above in English or Kiswahili.
Advanced (A) level or equivalent – 1 principal pass with a credit pass in English or Kiswahili at O – level.
Ordinary level or equivalent grade B and above.
The University admits students in the month of January, May and September each year.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Arts (International Relations and Diplomacy OR Political Science) degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper or Lower Division) from any recognized University.

Those with Bachelor of Arts degree in related disciplines such as History, Political Philosophy/Theory, International Law or Economics will be also be considered.

  1. MASENO UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN DIPLOMACY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be holders of:

  1. Management University of Africa Certificate In International Relations And Diplomacy Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements into the Management University of Africa Certificate Programme shall be as follows as approved by the University Senate:

  • KCSE mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent; or,
  • KCE Division II or its equivalent.

NB:

  • The University shall admit students based on a non-discriminatory policy. Students will be admitted without regard to their gender, disability, religion, and race, ethnic or national origin.
  • Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee automatic admission to the Certificate programme.
  • Applicants with non – Kenyan qualifications will be required to seek equivalence of their certificates from the relevant regulatory bodies.
