Communicating these to the team you are managing and relevant colleagues. Please note it is a requirement to have at least a team of 3 reporting to you).

If your application successfully passes through the first stage of the admissions process, you will be invited you to take part in an interview by Skype (if you are abroad) or face-to-face (if you are in the UK). The interview is relatively informal, lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and seeks to evaluate your suitability for the Glasgow MBA, as well as discuss your application and expectations. The interview will enable the MBA team to get to know you and provide you with an opportunity to understand how the Glasgow MBA works. The interview may include interaction with other candidates and you may be asked to prepare a brief presentation on a particular topic. Focus will be on the following competencies: motivation, commercial and business awareness, team working, project management, creativity, resilience and flexibility, business ethics and communication.

Although the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is not a standard requirement of our admissions process, strong verbal reasoning and numerical abilities are critical for the MBA and we may ask you to undertake such a test.

International students with academic qualifications below those required should contact our partner institution, Glasgow International College, who offer a range of pre-Masters courses.

We therefore still accept any of the English tests listed for admission to this programme.

Pre-sessional courses

The University of Glasgow accepts evidence of the required language level from the English for Academic Study Unit Pre-sessional courses. We also consider other BALEAP accredited pre-sessional courses:

  1. Nottingham University MBA Admission Requirements

How to Apply

Entry onto the MBA programme is dependent not only on your qualifications and experience but also your drive and enthusiasm.

We consider applications from graduates with good approved university honours degrees as well as those with significant professional experience or qualifications that have the potential to enhance the diversity of the MBA class.

References

Two references should be included with your application. We prefer referees who have direct experience of your management abilities (for example, employer or business contact) or your career or performance (for example, your company training or personnel officer).

Professional experience

Admission to our full-time MBA requires at least three to five years of post-graduation full-time work experience that includes some management experience.

For entry to our Executive MBA or Executive MBA Healthcare, we usually expect you to have at least five years of post-graduation full-time work experience.

The application process will include an interview.

English language requirements

If your first language is not English and you do not have a degree from a UK institution, we require evidence of your competence in English. We will normally require one of the following combinations of test results for an immediate entry to the MBA Programme.

You will be expected to fulfil certain English language and other academic requirements:

  • IELTS 7.0 (6.0 in each element) OR
  • academic Pearson test of English 68 (minimum 55)

  1. London School of Economics and Political Science MBA Admission Requirements

Each level of graduate study (diploma, master’s, MPhil/PhD) has particular minimum entry requirements. These consist of:

  • your degree(s)
  • your proficiency in the English language.

Please consult individual programme entries as well as reading the information below.

Your application will be considered on its academic merit. Please note that competition for places at LSE is intense, and possession of the minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee that you will be offered admission. It is therefore in your interests to apply as early as possible

Any offer of a place may be conditional on attending additional courses and/or passing qualifying examinations at a suitable standard, in addition to your degree.

If your first degree is from outside the UK:

For degree programmes outside the UK you will need to obtain at least 70 per cent of the available marks in your final year examinations. If your institution uses the cumulative grade point average (GPA) system you should normally have a GPA of at least 3.5 (out of 4) or above. For detailed information about the equivalence of non-UK qualifications, please see Information for international students.

Most graduate programmes assume that you have prior knowledge to degree level in particular disciplines. Competition varies between programmes and the level of grades/marks required will vary. Popular programmes will often look for a first class honours degree or its equivalent.

The minimum entrance requirements for each type of programme are normally as follows:

Master’s degree

A first or upper second class honours (2:1) degree from a UK university or a non-UK equivalent in a subject appropriate to the programme to be followed.
