- Technical University of Kenya(TUK) Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering Admission Requirements
Applicants shall be eligible for admission into the Bachelor Engineering in Mechanical Engineering degree course in the following categories:
KCSE Candidates
The basic admission requirement shall be the minimum entry requirements set for entry into the public universities, which is at least an average grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
In addition, candidates are expected to have obtained at least a grade C+ in each of the cluster subjects in following cluster of subjects in KCSE examinations:

A-Levels or Equivalent
Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) principal passes in Mathematics and Physics and a subsidiary level pass in Chemistry with a credit pass in English at O-Level.
Diploma (TEP) or Equivalent
Candidates with Diploma (Technical Education Project) in Mechanical Engineering of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification.
Diploma in Technology (Dip.Tech.) or Equivalent
Candidates with a Diploma in Technology (Dip.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification.
Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) or Equivalent
Candidates with a Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) in Mechanical Engineering of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or Equivalent
Candidates with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification.

KCSE Mean grade B- (minus) and mean grade for the total score in the four JAB cluster subjects of at lest B (plain) and the following minimum grades in the individual luster subjects: Mathematics C+, Physics C+, Chemistry C+, Geography or Biology, or group III or any group IV.

- KENYATTA UNIVERSITY BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A candidate pursuing the B.Sc (Mechanical Engineering) degree programme must meet the minimum entry requirements for the School of Engineering and Technology.
The candidate must have attained the following minimum grades at KSCE or equivalent qualifications: Mathematics (B+), Physics (B+), Chemistry (B), English (B) Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with Higher Diploma of credit pass in relevant field of study from a recognized institution.
- UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN MECHANICAL AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates shall be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Science degree in the School of Engineering in the following categories:
- a) KCSE Candidates The basic admission requirement shall be the minimum requirement set for entry into the public universitys which is a mean grade of at least C+ in their Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). In addition, candidates should have obtained a least C+ in each of the four clusters of subjects from any of the following alternative clusters. However, a cutoff grade higher than a C+ in each cluster subject shall be preferred if limitation of the number of places available for each degree programme versus the number of qualified candidates so demand. The said cut-off grades shall be determined and implemented by the School Board.

Candidates with a minimum requirement of principal C passes in mathematics and Physics and a subsidiary level pass in Chemistry with a credit pass in English at ‘O’ level, except that for Geospacial Engineering, a subsidiary level pass in Geography shall also be accepted in lieu of Chemistry.
c)KNEC Higher National Diploma (HND) or Equivalent study:
Candidates with Higher National Diploma in the following broad study:

Moi University Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical & Production Engineering Admission Requirements
- Minimum mean grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and C+ (plus) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Physical Sciences and English.
