Here are admission requirements for anyone who wants to become a pilot in Kenya.

Kenya School of Flying Piloting Admission Requirements and Fees Structure

Private Pilot Licence.

Descriptions

This course takes four to six months, and involves:

  • 45 flying hours and revision
  • General flight test
  • Ground school instruction course
  • Morse code tutorial

Students will be assessed by a KCAA GFT examiner.

99 Flying School Admission Requirement for Piloting

COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE(CPL)

Course Requirements

  • The minimum age for one to be issued with a Commercial Pilot License is 18.
  • One must demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Be in possession of a valid Class 1 Medical certificate
  • Be in possession of a valid Private Pilot’s License
  • Achieve minimum flight time as stipulated in the Civil aviation regulations.
  • Pass all stipulated theory examinations

AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOTS LICENCE (ATPL)

Course Requirements

  • The minimum age for one to be issued with an Air Transport Pilot License is 21.
  • One must demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Be in possession of a valid Class 1 Medical certificate
  • Be in possession of a valid Commercial Pilot’s License
  • Achieve minimum flight time as stipulated in the Civil aviation regulations.
  • Pass all stipulated theory examinations

PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE

Course Requirements

  • The minimum age for one to be issued with a Private Pilot License is 17.
  • One must demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Be in possession of a valid Class 2 Medical certificate
  • Be in possession of a valid Student Pilot’s License
  • Achieve minimum flight time as stipulated in the Civil aviation regulations.
  • Pass all stipulated theory examinations

  • You must have finished secondary school (form 4/6) and passed.
  • You must have passed English, Mathematics and Geography.
  • You have to be medically and physically fit.
