Egerton University Bachelor Of Education In Early Childhood Development And Education Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements
The general University admission requirement of at least a KCSE certificate with a mean Grade of O shall apply. In addition, applicants must have scored at least grade C in the following subjects:
Either English or Kiswahili
Any one subject from: Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry or Physical Science
Any one subject from: History and Government. Geography. Religious Education or Social Education and Ethics.
Either Biology or Biological Sciences
Alternatively, applicants shall be admitted into the programme provided they hold either:
PI Teachers’ Certificate and at least a KCSE Certificate with a mean Grade of C plain or KCE Division II or RACE I principal and 2 Subsidiary passes
OR
Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education from a recognized examining body.
OR
Certificate in ECDE teaching from a recognized examining body and at least a KCSE Certificate with a mean Grade of C plain or KCE Division II or KACE 1 principal and 2 subsidiary passes.
OR
KACE or its equivalent with at least 2 principal passes and 1 subsidiary pass.

University of Nairobi Diploma in Early Childhood Education Admission Requirements

The following shall be eligible for registration in Diploma for Early Childhood Education:

A holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum of grade C or its approved equivalent qualifications.

A holder of KCE minimum Division III or its approved equivalent qualifications.

A holder of a recognized certificate in Early Childhood Education with at least two years teaching experience and KCSE minimum grad C- or its approved equivalent qualifications.

Any other relevant qualifications recognized by Senate.

Mount Kenya University Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Development Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

The following shall be the minimum University entry requirements for admission to the Diploma course in early childhood of Mt. Kenya University.

1. C plain in KCSE
2. Foundation certificate and a mean grade of C- in KCSE

Exemptions and Credit Transfers
Credit transfers may be given to students who have done similar courses from institutions recognized by the university senate

Kenyatta University Diploma in  Early Childhood Care and Education Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission, candidates must meet the following academic, professional and other qualifications: Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE OR Mean grade of C- (Minus) with either a P1 certificate or an Early Childhood Studies certificate from a recognized Institution.

The diploma programme will be offered in three modes: residential, open learning and school based. The minimum duration for the residential programme is three semesters. The programme consists of 18 units usually offered in 3 semesters. In order to qualify for the award of the diploma, the candidate must pass all the 18 units.

Certification
The programme will lead to the award of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

Examination
The final written examination will constitute 70% of the total mark while the continuous assess-
ment and assignments will constitute 30%.The pass mark of each course shall be 50%

KCA University Diploma in Early Childhood Education Admission Requirements

Minimum admission requirements:

​​Minimum C plain (KCSE), or C minus with a P1 teaching certificate / 2yr ECD certificate + 1yr experience

MASENO UNIVERSITY BACHELOR OF EDUCATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT WITH IT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for admission, applicants should have any of the following minimum requirements:

1. a) Mean grade of C+ and above in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations
2. b) Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution of learning
3. c) P1 Certificate with KCSE Mean Grade C plain
4. d) EACE/KACE with I Principal and 2 subsidiary passes

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM

The program will be offered on both full- and part-time basis. The full-time program shall follow the normal University semester system. The part-time or sandwich program shall normally take four academic years consisting of sixteen school holiday sessions.

Pwani University Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education Admission Requirements

Minimum Entry-Requirement:

(i) Mean Grade C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ in any two of the following subjects: History, Geography, English, Kiswahili, Business Studies, Religious Studies, French and Mathematics.
OR
(ii) Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or one (1) Principle and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE and be a holder of a Diploma with a minimum of Credit one (1) in Arts Education from any institution recognised by the Commission for University Education with not less than two (2) years teaching experience.
