Our client, a renowned in the manufacturing sector based in Mombasa, have an immediate requirement for the positions of Human Resource Manager, Chief Accountant and a Production Cost Accountant all based in Mombasa
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER
Role Brief To oversee the human resources function as well as to handle employee-related services, regulatory compliance, and employee relations.

 

Job Purpose Responsible for ensuring that the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources plans and programs are realized.

 

Main Responsibilities of Job a)    Enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

b)    Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

c)     Support organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.

d)    Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.

e)    Manage a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.

f)      Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.

g)    Implement employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

h)    Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Labour Laws requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.

i)      Enforce management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

j)      Retain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.

k)     Complete human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.

l)      Manage human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

m)   Advance human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

 

Academic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource, or any other related field, gained from a recognized institution.

·         A Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or any related field is an added advantage

·         Holder of Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management

·         Must be a member in good standing of the IHRM, with a valid IHRM Practicing Certificate

·         Have knowledge and relevant work experience of 7 years and above, with not less than 4 years in a management role.

·         Experience working in a manufacturing environment

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be social; possess impressive executive presence and communication abilities

·         Highly organized and able to multi-task

·         Self-driven and proactive nature

·         Demonstrate strong leadership and presentation qualities

 

CHIEF ACCOUNTANT
Job Purpose The chief Accountant will be in-charge of all accounting activities of both financial and management accounting. He/she will be responsible for preparing financial and performance reports, assisting departments with annual budgets and reviews, internal controls and tax studies. The role will also oversee the accounting function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cost Accounting. Ensuring the company interests are protected at all times and stringent financial reporting is managed.

 

Main Responsibilities of Job The jobholder will be responsible for:

 

a)    Independently overseeing the accounts department within the organization.

b)    Creating and implementing internal accounting and finance policies and procedures in line with international standards.

c)     Managing all activities in relation to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cost Accounting.

d)    Overseeing General Ledger and all financial records.

e)    Assisting in the development and implementation of ERP systems.

f)      Ensuring the company is adequately protected from a financial perspective.

g)    Instrumental in facilitating the auditing process and liaising with external auditors.

h)    Providing timely and streamlined reporting to Senior Management.

i)      Representing the company in Executive Meetings pertaining to financial planning and analysis.

j)      Monitoring the financial position, financial performance and cash flows of the company

k)     Revising any discrepancies of reports

l)      Checking the company’s assets and liabilities that could affect its equity in the future.

 

Academic Qualifications:

§  University degree in Finance or Accounting

§  CPA (K) or equivalent

§  Have 10 years’ relevant work experience five  (5) of which in a similar position preferably in a manufacturing environment.

§  Hands on experience on SAP.

§  Ability to lead a team

 

Technical Competencies: –

§  Critical mind in identifying and defining clearly the problem, evaluating different ideas or ways of solving the problem from the data gathered.

§  Extensive knowledge in fast-paced technologies and accounting programs

PRODUCTION COST ACCOUNTANT
Job Purpose To direct activities of product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation.
Main Responsibilities of Job a)    To maintain a daily production record that should agree with inventory and daily sales

b)    To mobilize for, coordinate and participate in stock counts, both cyclic and monthly

c)     To ensure that product reconciliations are completed and any variance explained/investigates and appropriate action taken

d)    Reconcile finished goods and raw material inventories – physical vs system

e)    Review and recalculate raw materials, finished goods and other base costs and determine impact to business by applying changes

f)      Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw materials purchases, inventory and labour.

g)    Prepare detailed cost reports for manufacturing, identifying key overspends and variances and identifying opportunities for improvements

h)    Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information for various consumers as needed for decision making support.

i)      Maintain cost accounting system

j)      Assisting in month end close of the general ledger

 

Academic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business management
  • CPA (K) or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Excellent use of Excel. Working knowledge with advanced Excel will be an added advantage.
  • Experience using ERP (SAP-B1 preferred) in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical skills
