DETAILED REQUIREMENTS 1. CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER – GRADE 15. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Legal officer will be in charge of the University Legal department; Main Duties and Responsibilities;
Key Qualifications & Experience: i.Master’s degree in law, Business Administration or any other related areas will be an added advantage ii.Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree or its equivalent from a registered and recognized institution of Higher Learning. iii.Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. iv.Fully qualified public secretary (CPS-K) v.Membership to relevant professional body – LSK. vi.At least seven (7) years working experience in a large corporation and currently holding a similar or equivalent position. Additional Key competencies;

PHARMACIST – GRADE 12 Reporting to the Director, University Health Services the Job holder will be in charge of the University Pharmacy. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: a. Bachelors’ Degree in Pharmacy or relevant and related field from a registered and recognized institution. b. Current registration certificate to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board. c. Three (3) years relevant work experience in a Public Institution pharmacy or busy pharmacy. d. Valid practicing License e. Computer Literate Additional Skills / Requirements i.Communication skills ii.Organizational skills iii.Leadership skills iv.Team building skills v.Conflict Management skills vi.Analytical skills vii.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 3. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST – GRADE E/F QUALIFICATIONS: a. Bachelor Degree in Pharmaceutical Science or related field OR Higher National Diploma in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology Applied Sciences or health related field from a registered and recognized institution of Higher Learning. b. At least three (3) years hands on relevant work experience in a reputable hospital or relevant work environment c. Valid registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board. d. Valid Practicing License e. Computer Literate 4. MEDICAL OFFICER – GRADE12 QUALIFICATIONS: a. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree programme (MBChB) or related field from a registered and recognized institution of Higher Learning. b. At least three (3) years hands on medical consultation experience from a recognized hospital c. Valid registration with the Kenya Medical and Dentist Practitioners Board. d. Valid Practicing License e. Computer Literate f. High level of integrity and able to work under pressure.` 5. MACHINE OPERATOR – GRADE III/IV QUALIFICATIONS: a. KCE Division IV or KCSE mean grade D+ (Plus) or equivalent b. Certificate in Machine Maintenance or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. c. At least Three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy organization. d. Must be a person of integrity. 6. SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY TOURISM AND LEISURE STUDIES DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND SPORTS MANAGEMENT I.I.PROFESSOR QUALIFICATIONS: i.An earned PhD. Degree from an accredited and recognized University. ii.At least three (3) years of university teaching experience as Associate Professor iii.Successfully supervised at least Five (5) Postgraduate students to completion and at least two (2) at Doctoral Level since being appointed Associate Professor. iv.A minimum of cumulative sixty (60) publication points** of which at least forty (40) should be from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Associate Professor. v.Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Associate Professor. vi.Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching vii.Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars and workshops. |
II. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR QUALIFICATIONS: i.An earned PhD. Degree in an accredited and recognized University. ii.At least three (3) years of university teaching experience as Senior Lecturer. iii.A minimum of cumulative Forty Eight (48) publication points*, of which Thirty Two (32) are from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Senior Lecturer. iv.Successful supervision of at least four (4) post graduate students including at least one (1) doctoral student as senior Lecturer. v.Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Lecturer. vi.Evidence of good quality teaching. vii.Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
III. SENIOR LECTURER QUALIFICATIONS: i.An earned PhD. Degree in Recreation and Sports Management or Leisure and Recreation Management an accredited and recognized University. ii.At least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level as Lecturer or six (6) years research / industry experience. iii.A minimum of cumulative Thirty Two (32) publication points* of which Twenty Four (24) are from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Lecturer iv.Successful supervision of at least three (3) post graduate students as lecturer. v.Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Lecturer. vi.Evidence of good quality teaching. vii.Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops. viii.Current registration by relevant professional statutory bodies. IV. LECTURER QUALIFICATIONS: i.An earned PhD. Degree in Recreation and Sports Management or Leisure and Recreation Management from an accredited and recognized University. ii.At least three (3) years University teaching or research / industry experience.
V. TUTORIAL FELLOW QUALIFICATIONS: i.Masters in Recreation and Sports Management or Leisure and Recreation Management from an accredited and recognized University. ii.Applicants must be prepared to pursue Ph.D. in the specified areas of specialization iii.PhD Registration will be an added advantage 7. DEPARTMENT OF FASHION DESIGN AND MARKETING I.I.PROFESSOR QUALIFICATIONS: i.An earned PhD. TUTORIAL FELLOW QUALIFICATIONS: i.Masters in Fashion Design and Marketing or Textiles, Clothing and Design from an accredited and recognized University. ii.Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Marketing or Textiles, Clothing and Design iii.Teaching experience at University level will be an added advantage. iv.Applicants must be prepared to pursue Ph.D. in the specified areas of specialization. v.Registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field will be an added advantage. 8. DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCES I. SENIOR LECTURER QUALIFICATIONS: i.An earned PhD. Degree in Plant Sciences, Natural Sciences or related field with specialization in Genetics from an accredited and recognized University. ii.At least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level as Lecturer or six (6) years research / industry experience. iii.A minimum of cumulative Thirty Two (32) publication points* of which Twenty Four (24) are from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Lecturer iv.Successful supervision of at least three (3) post graduate students as lecturer. v.Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Lecturer. vi.Evidence of good quality teaching. vii.Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops. viii.Current registration by relevant professional statutory bodies.
