These jobs are advertised annually to give fresh graduates a chance to work in banking sector. Banks prefer fresh graduates because they are not expensive to hire and retain. In Kenya, the average salary for graduate clerks is Ksh45,000-Ksh 70,000.

Banks like Co-operative, KCB, Standard Chartered, Bank of Africa, Equity Bank, Commercial Bank of Africa and National Bank must recruit graduate trainees each year.

Professionals

Financial Analysts, Accountants, Bank Managers, Operations Managers, Fixed Income Traders etc are also employed by banks in Kenya. These professionals are normally poached from other banks or are promoted by the banks they work for. Professionals such as Financial Analysts are paid more than Ksh 150,000 in Kenya. Bank managers on the other end earn not less than Ksh 150,000.

Direct Sales Representatives

Banks must grow, and in order to grow they need direct sales representatives. Unlike insurance companies which pay sales persons commissions only, banks pay their sales personnel salaries.

The easiest position to get in any bank in Kenya is that of direct sales representative, and the easiest banks to join include Cooperative bank and KCB.

Salary for direct sales representatives in Kenya is Ksh 20,000-Ksh 35,000.
